WHAT IS A HOUSE CHURCH?
A house church is a biblically-based gathering of believers who meet regularly in homes for worship, fellowship, teaching, and the sacraments. House churches maintain the same doctrinal standards as traditional churches while meeting in a more intimate setting.
STARTING A HOUSE CHURCH
According to "How to Find a Courageous Church" (page 11), when you cannot find a sound church in your area, starting a house church may be a biblical option. Key considerations:
- Maintain sound biblical doctrine (closed-handed issues are non-negotiable)
- Establish regular teaching from Scripture
- Practice the ordinances (baptism and communion)
- Implement biblical church discipline
- Seek qualified leadership (1 Timothy 3, Titus 1)

⚠️ IMPORTANT
House churches must maintain the same theological standards as traditional churches. All essential doctrines (biblical inerrancy, Trinity, virgin birth, physical resurrection, exclusive salvation) are non-negotiable, as are biblical positions on gender and sexuality.
