You've found a good church - now what?

[CONGRATULATIONS]

If you've found a Bible-teaching church, that's a huge blessing. But finding a church is just the beginning. Here's how to get planted and grow.

[THE FIRST MONTH]

Attend Consistently

Don't just visit once. Attend for at least 4-6 weeks before making a decision. You need to see the church in different situations.

Take Notes During Sermons

Write down key points, Bible references, and questions. This helps you engage and remember what you're learning.

Meet the Pastor

Most pastors are available after services or by appointment. Introduce yourself and ask about their vision for the church.

Fill Out a Visitor Card

Let the church know you're interested. This opens the door for them to connect with you and answer questions.

JOIN A SMALL GROUP

Sunday services are important, but real growth happens in smaller settings. Look for:

- Bible studies

- Men's/Women's groups

If you've recently come to faith in Christ, here are specific next steps:

1. Get baptized. This is your public declaration of faith. Talk to the pastor about it.
2. Start reading the Bible. Begin with the Gospel of John, then Romans.
3. Find a mentor. Ask an older Christian to meet with you regularly.
4. Join a new believers class. Most churches offer something for new Christians.
5. Tell someone. Share your faith with a friend or family member.

How long before I become a member?
Most churches recommend attending for 2-3 months before joining. This gives you time to understand the church and for them to know you.
Should I tithe right away?
Giving is part of Christian obedience. Start where you can and grow toward the biblical principle of tithing (10%) as you're able.
What if I have doubts or questions?
That's normal! Find a pastor or mature Christian who can help you work through your questions. Doubts aren't the enemy of faith - they're often the path to deeper faith.
